Boardman River

The Boardman River is a 28.2 mile-long river that flows into the west arm of the Grand Traverse Bay in Traverse City. It is considered one of the top trout streams in Michigan. Before entering the Grand Traverse Bay, The Boardman River becomes Boardman Lake, a natural lake that was originally 259 acres in size and increased in size to 339 acres after th Union Dam was constructed in 1867.
