Grand Traverse Bay
Grand Traverse Bay is a breath taking, crystal clear, bay of Lake Michigan. The bay is 32 miles long, 10 miles wide, and up to 620 feet deep. It is divided into two arms by the Old Mission Peninsula (near Traverse City proper), East Bay and West Bay. Grand Traverse Bay is a favorite spot for locals and vactioners alike for sailing, fishing and enjoying a day at the beach. This bay should not be confused with the Grand Traverse Bay of Lake Superior, located on the Keweenaw Peninsula.
